Set Up a Routine to Implement in Your New Home!

You may already be a busy professional or someone who spends a lot of time taking care of a family. You may have family obligations and a job, or family members that need a structure. Setting up a visual place in your home for communication is a great way to have daily life flow better when everyone is rushing around on the weekdays.

A Planning Center

Create a section of your home for a planning center. This is a creative project for most and can include adding a work center for studying or paying bills. Many times, a planning center is easy to personalize and create on your own.

Get creative with chalkboard paint or whiteboard paint. Kids love being able to write on the walls and tend to communicate better when it is fun! You can write questions or comments, and they can offer input.

You may want to add storage to the planning center for families who need to structure morning tasks. Add lunches, backpacks and umbrellas to the storage areas for an easier morning routine. This also allows everyone to check the daily schedules as they pick up the things they need for the day.

Scheduling is important for a communication center. Not only will you remember what you need to do for the day, but it is a way to communicate plans with everyone. A large schedule that is appealing is the best way to keep track of everyone's important tasks and plans for the week.

A planning center is also great for organizing items like printers, paper, important documents, and library books. Paying the bills and keeping them filed in a desk at the planning center is a good way to keep frustrations down.

A chore schedule can be added to your standard schedule or separate. Everyone will know what to do for the day and you won't have to let them know what duties they must complete.

Getting Everyone on the Same Page

One of the easiest ways to get several people in a new house to go along with a schedule is to institute a reward system. This does work for adults as well. You can even do it for yourself. If the schedule is followed for cleaning, homework, or activities for the whole week, then there is a reward. This can be for a group or each individual in the home.

Why it is Important to Keep Up with Your Home

Cleaning is probably the last thing people think of when they finally get the keys to the house they bought. It is key in several important issues for a home. The cleaner a home, the quicker you can find things that need maintenance, pests, or even an emergency leak! If the house isn't properly taken care of it can deteriorate faster. Planning chores and taking the time to build a communication or planning center can make a house feel more like a comfortable home. When everyone works well together, the home is full of cooperation and memories are built easier.
